BBA requires Additional Testing to Ensure Fire Spread in the Cavity is Negated
Early Last Year the BBA decided that to allow a cladding product to be used over 18m in England and Wales (11m in Scotland), that the cavity facing side of cladding should be tested for reaction to Fire
Surprisingly, this face is not tested as part of the BS EN 13823:2020 Reaction to Fire test which is required by the Building Regulations, and we worked alongside the BBA and Exova Warringtonfire to agree a test regime that would meet this additional requirement.
Twelve months down the line and FastClad can proudly announce that this testing has been completed and can be found in our recently reissued BBA Certificate as below:
What was the outcome?
The testing demonstrates that FastClad is the safest and possibly most extensively tested brick slip system on the market which can use any brick manufactured to EN771-1
