St Albans Welcome & Learning Centre - Entrance Soffit

A Modern Entrance for a Historical Building

The St Albans Learning & Welcome Centre presented a particular problem for contractor Thomas Sinden Ltd. Could we provide a soffit solution to blend seamlessly with stepped brickwork to the feature entrance?

Taking the principles already developed for our FastClad brick system when returning into our flat soffits and adapting to suit the particular brick dimensions required, our engineers said ‘Yes’

This unique ventilated and drained soffit was designed to be lightweight, easy to install, with enough adaptability to be able to line through with the hand-set masonry that surrounds it

Already a winner of the prestigious Scottish Design Awards, why not see if we can help you design an award winning project, by engineering practical brick slip solutions

Collaboration is Key

Thomas Sinden came to us with the architects concept and asked us to develop a bespoke solution for this architecturally sensitive building.

Working with their Design and Site teams to ensure the robustness required of a public building was met along with creating the desired aesthetic and practical installation was always at the forefront of our solution.
